The Order of the Arrow lodges of North Carolina were invited by Tali Taktaki Lodge to a gathering at Camp Graystone in September 1945. Greensboro Council’s former Assistant Scout Executive Bob Wolff was the leader in organizing and promoting this event. Earlier in the year he had accepted a new job as Scout Executive of Tuscarora Council headquartered in Goldsboro.
About 175 Arrowmen from around the state arrived at camp, some on Friday night and many more the next morning. An Ordeal was conducted during the weekend and candidates began the process on Friday night.
The Opening General Session started at 10:00am on Saturday with a Welcome by Greensboro Council Scout Executive George Thomason. The “Purpose of the Meeting” was explained by Winston-Salem Council Scout Executive W.E. Vaughan-Lloyd and Bob Wolff outlined the program for the weekend.
