2013 SR-7B Section Cardinal Conclave

2013 SR-7B Section ConclaveThe 2013 SR-7B Section Conclave was held at Camp Durant near Carthage, NC on April 19-21 and hosted by Occoneechee Lodge 104. Highlights of the event were the participation by Matt Brown, 2013 National Chief of the Order of the Arrow, the OA Xperience, Indian Dancing, and Saturday night which featured a great show with fireworks and the first SR-7B Cardnival. The conclave’s official attendance was a new record, 1,701 Arrowmen!

The weekend started with a late Friday afternoon severe storm. High winds downed trees and power to camp was lost for several hours. Contingents arrived and set up their campsites through rain showers that lasted until early morning. The opening show moved indoors to the Grand Lodge (dining hall) and wet participants greeted the Section officers and guests with spirited cheering and much enthusiasm. The power was restored at about 9:00, halfway through the show. At 9:45pm a special Vigil Rededication and Reception was held in a large tent on The Vista. Patch Traders filled the Armstrong Shelter well past midnight trying to obtain the contingent patches issued by each lodge.

Had all the fun making preparations for it but had to miss out for a family wedding. Hope everyone had fun. I know Friday night was a bummer with the storm. I kept in contact with the trading post guys to make sure everything was going good. Looking forward to BEING at conclave in 2014!
