Tsoiotsi Tsogalii Lodge 70 Recognizes Retiring ONSC Professionals
On December 31, 2013 Old North State Council saw the retirement of three long-term professionals. At the suggestion of the Supreme Chief of the Fire the lodge issued patches to recognize the contribution of these three Arrowmen. A patch was designed for each man and it includes their name, their image, final BSA position, and years served. Each patch measures four inches in diameter and has the lodge name, number, and WWW.
Following is a brief description of each patch:
R9 – Alfred Giles – Mr. Giles served Uwharrie Council and Old North State Council as Camp Ranger from 1983 – 2013. For about 20 years he took care of Woodfield Scout Preservation, the home of the council’s Cub Scout camp.
R10 – Dan Dobbins – Mr. Dobbins served General Greene Council and Old North State Council from 1981 – 2013. He worked as District Executive, District Director, Camp Director, Program Director and finally as Field Director.
R11 – Ted Williams – Ted served Cherokee Council and Old North State Council from 1972 – 2013. He served in numerous positions most recently as Assistant Scout Executive. Ted also served as OA Area Staff Advisor for 17 years and was presented the OA’s Distinguished Service Award (DSA) in 2012.
These patches were sold for $30.00 per set of three.

I have been told these sold out very quickly. The main reason for this is that there were only 50 sets of these made. Also I was informed that individual patches were sold as well as a set, with more of the Ted Williams patches being sold individually. With that said, there are not a lot of complete sets in the hands of collectors out there.
