Summer Occoneechee Lodge 104 TOR News
While the summer has us perspiring due to the sultry NC heat, there is sweet cool relief in sight. Occoneechee Lodge 104 will be hosting a NOAC Fundraiser Trade-O-Ree at Camp Durant on August 22-23, 2014. The Trade-O-Ree will be housed in the air-conditioned Grand Lodge…aka dining hall for all non-Occoneechee folks. We even have some cabins available for rent on a first come first serve basis and they are going fast folks! There are still some available but you need to act on this rather quickly. Want to set up your tent? Tent camping is available in a site adjacent to the Grand Lodge. Flush toilets and showers are available in all of the sites at Durant. We’ll even give you a grand tour of camp if you want to see everything at camp.
There are up to 50 tables available for the TOR and many have already been rented out but there is still time to grab one or more if you want to sell a few patches. Food will be available for purchase on Friday evening, Saturday breakfast and lunch….you’ll never have to leave except to head off to your air-conditioned cabin Friday night. We’ve pulled patches from the Lodge collection for several silent auctions over the weekend….seems I remember seeing a tough ’98 NOAC SMY Bud Frog delegate set in that group.
Rumor has it that there will be a “first” at the Trade-O-Ree for NC. The Lodge will be issuing a woven TOR event flap. Yes, there have been woven flaps issued before in NC but this is the first woven event flap. The woven flap will have a rolled edge border.
There are also some rumblings about the Lodge’s 2015 “themed” NOAC set….Yes, they will be available for purchase beginning at the Trade-O-Ree. Curious about the theme….Here’s a hint. May all your trades “be forever in your favor.”
Looking for some of the newer 104 issues? Our Trading Post staff will open up the Lodge Box. Yes sir, you read it correctly. You can purchase any of the patches we sell in the Lodge Trading Post for non-inflated prices.
We’re looking to have a fun weekend of trading, buying and fellowship which includes you. Don’t miss out on this summer event!!
